Martin Thomas has a general practice of law, but concentrates in the areas of Personal Injury, Criminal Law and Traffic Law. His personal injury practice includes motor vehicle accidents, products liability, medical malpractice and premises liability. He also has an active practice in various areas of Administrative Law, including alcoholic beverage control law (ABC licensing for restaurant and bar owners with the ABC Board) and representation of various health care professionals before the Department of Health Professions (Board of Medicine, Board of Nursing, Board of Pharmacy) for disciplinary matters. Martin also represents many small corporations and other businesses.
Martin has become well known in the legal community as a torts attorney. He handles multimillion dollar personal injury cases throughout Virginia. His recent cases involve serious injuries as a result of driving while intoxicated, truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, defective products and slip and fall.
Martin Thomas is very active in the Hampton Roads community. He is currently on the Board of Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School and served as Chairman for six years. He is also a past member of the boards of Catholic Charities of Hampton Roads and The Catholic Charities of Hampton Roads Foundation. He is a past President and member of the School Board of St. Gregory the Great Catholic School in Virginia Beach. Martin Thomas is of Lebanese heritage and serves on the Board of Directors of the Sons and Daughters of Lebanon. He is also a past president of that organization. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Columbian Club of Ocean View, Inc. He also has served as the Master of Ceremonies of the St. Patrick's Day Parade put on by the Knights of Columbus in Ocean View for over twenty years.
